Chapter Awards Presented in Las Vegas

Each year at the ACFE Global Fraud Conference, the ACFE recognizes local chapters that have gone above and beyond their missions with two awards: Chapter of the Year and Chapter Website of the Year. This year’s awards were presented to the Heartland Chapter and Spain Chapter, respectively.

The 2016 Chapter of the Year was accepted by Kimberly Butler, CFE, president of the Heartland Chapter. The Heartland Chapter is dedicated to promoting the ACFE and educating their community on how they can prevent, detect and deter fraud. The chapter held eight training events in 2015, including their Annual Conference last May worth 16 CPE credit hours. They also helped promote Fraud Week by holding a 1-day training seminar worth eight CPE credit hours.

In addition to multiple presentations to the local community promoting the benefits of obtaining the CFE certification, chapter events and scholarship opportunities, the Heartland Chapter, for the sixteenth year in a row, had a proclamation signing with the Nebraska governor at the state capital. Butler spoke about the importance of fraud awareness and prevention in the community and recognized businesses that encourage their employees to become members of the chapter and obtain their CFE credential.

The 2016 Chapter Website of the Year was accepted by Mariano Casado on behalf of the Spain Chapter. The website is easily viewed in multiple browsers and devices, and the branding is consistent with ACFE’s brand standards. The chapter regularly updates its site’s content and provides links to ACFE news articles, blogs and other ACFE resources, as well as local community resources. Members can also join the chapter online and renew their chapter memberships.

Both winners were selected by the Chapter Awards Committee and chosen from among nominations submitted between January and March earlier this year. Congratulations to both winners!
