Using the ACFE Member List

One of the many resources available to our chapter leaders on the Chapter Administration site is a complete list of ACFE members in your geographic area. Here are instructions on how to access the Chapter Administration site. Once you access the site, scroll down to the Chapter Promotion section, and click the link for the Member List.

After you click the Member List link, a report will be generated to give an up-to-date list of members in your geographic area, and you will be taken to a page that lists all of these members.

Marketing Your Events
We recommend that you generate this list any time you want to promote one of your events or networking opportunities. When a new member joins or changes their email address, this report is updated within a few hours. By creating this list each time you market your chapter, you are sure to have the most up-to-date list of members and correct contact information.

Increasing Your Membership
As you are reviewing the member list, you will notice there are columns for Join Date and Certification Date.

  • Join Date – This is the date when members joined the ACFE. Once you export the file, sort by join date and you’ll see the newest members that joined the ACFE. You may want to reach out to them and introduce yourself and the chapter. You serve as an extension of the ACFE, and you can discuss some of the benefits that your chapter can offer associate members.

  • Certification Date – This is the date when members became certified. If these individuals are not already members of the chapter, you may want to email them and introduce yourself and the chapter. Since they are now a CFE, you may let them know that your chapter is the perfect place to obtain the CPE credits required to maintain their credential and other benefits that the chapter offers.

Within the Chapter Administration page under More Resources/Chapter Documents, you’ll see a link for Sample Communications. We provide a sample introduction email that you can use to reach these members. Feel free to edit the text as needed.

Reaching Students/Educators
Many chapters often have ideas on how to reach out to educational institutions and contact local students. There is a column for Member Category. The majority of the members listed will be “general.” However, anyone who is an educator or a student member will be identified here.

  • Educators – You may want to contact them and ask if there are any opportunities to speak to their students about your career and how the CFE credential has helped you.

  • Students – You may invite a number of students to an upcoming presentation to see if they’d like to get involved with the chapter. Since most students are on a tight budget, many chapters offer membership to students at no charge or a greatly reduced fee.

These are just a few ways that chapters use the ACFE chapter list. We highly encourage you to generate a new list any time you send out a chapter communication. If you have any questions about this member list, feel free to contact Joe Broccolo.
