Virtual Leaders Meeting Question & Answer Recap
/On December 2-3, 2024, the ACFE held the 2nd Chapter Leaders Summit in Austin, Texas. Over the day-and-a-half event, chapter leaders discussed challenges they face daily and shared solutions to those challenges. The final session we dedicated to providing an open forum to ask any chapter-related question that we had not yet covered; however, there were several unanswered questions.
Since there were so many unanswered questions, the Summit speakers, Amanda Malusky Krauss and Katie Robinson agreed to host a virtual chapter leaders meeting to cover those questions and more. The meeting took place on Tuesday, February 25 on Zoom and was attended by 170 attendees representing nearly 95 chapters around the world.
The meeting began with the ACFE’s Chapter Development Manager, Joe Broccolo, sharing how to access the Chapter Leaders Administration site and find the local ACFE member list and the speaker database. As we discussed other ways to find speakers, we also discussed what to look for when considering having a fraudster speak for your chapter. Joe also followed up with the attendees and provided them with a sample budget that chapters can use when planning their events.
We continued the discussion on chapter events by polling the audience about what they charge per CPE credit for their virtual events. Most chapters charge between $10-$15 per CPE credit. We also briefly talked about the benefits of having NASBA sponsorship.
We also discussed partnerships and asked what organizations our chapters partner with. The most common organizations were the IIA and the ACCA. We also asked what those partnerships look like. What are the responsibilities of each organization at joint events, etc.?
These are just a few of the topics that we discussed during the two-hour meeting. The meeting was recorded, and it will be made available to chapter leaders on the chapter administration site. Thank you all who attended, and we look forward to the next virtual meeting and Chapter Leaders Summit.
